  • Supervisors of STP trainees who are studying in Manchester.
  • Academics from the MSc Clinical Science programmes delivered in Manchester.
  • Representatives from organisations with an interest in healthcare science education.

What is the event about?

This FREE event aims to showcase the exceptional research undertaken by third year trainees as well as providing an insight into their experiences of going through the STP. The event also provides an opportunity for trainees and other delegates involved in healthcare scientist education to network and find out more about the important work being undertaken within healthcare science.

We are delighted to announce the following keynote speakers:

Professor Andy Garner, Dean of the Faculty of Health at Keele University, will deliver a talk on how new STP graduates can create and maintain a research culture in the workplace.

Professor Chris Gibson, Head of the National School of Healthcare Science, will discuss the types of roles that recent STP graduates have gone onto and will highlight cases where individuals have become involved in research and innovation projects.  Professor Gibson will also introduce the Higher Specialist Scientific Training (HSST) programme as the next step in the Healthcare Scientist’s career path.
