MAHSE are seeking some new lay representatives for their programmes.
Patients are at the heart of everything the NHS does and therefore the experiences of patients are an important aspect of the training that new healthcare professionals receive. The NHS workforce needs to know what patients think about the service they provide. The next generation of NHS workers need to value the views and experiences of patients from the start of their training.
MAHSE is seeking up to eight new patient representatives for each of its Programme Committees which meet in Manchester or Liverpool 3-4 times each year. These roles attract a nominal fee (£18.81/hour) and all reasonable expenses will be paid.
There are many ways that you can get involved, from providing a patient view of an academic lecture, helping deliver classroom sessions, being involved in the assessment of students or assisting the programme team in evaluating the course.

We will be holding an informal information event with the academic staff involved in the programme and current lay representatives during mid-November. Any applicants will be contacted with further details, so that you can come and chat to the team and find out more about the role.
